The kichen has been quiet for a spell, so thought I might rattlle a few pots and pans and see what pops up on the menu.
Last eve made a comfort food base thing.
Sheppards pie.
Using left over mashed potato and gravy from my country fried ( I still call it chicken fried) steak a few nights back.
Browned up some hambuger with chopped onion, blanced some diced carrots, celerey and then put the combined ingredients and a can of corn kernals in a 9 by 13 pan. Added some gravey, covered the whole thing with mashed potatoe, baked . Used egg wash to cover the tatters (dog loved the left over wash), baked 375 45 minutes.
During the cold season make a lot of different comfort type foods and I figure some of you others do also.
So what was your latest comfort food?
