Well tried something totally new to me.
BBQ or grilled (however you label it) fried chicken.
Got the idea from another site and well went a step futher.
Battered chicken (5 thighs bone in) (3 skinned ,2 skin on)
Dusted in seasoned flour.
(1/2 tsp natures seasoning)
(1 tsp master grills OL western BBQ spice)
dipped in eggs
(3 well beaten)
covered in seasoned panko bread crumbs
(1 tsp master grills ol western spice)
Grill set up...brickets burning in center of fire pit (weber ). Placed chicken around grill so that they were not directly over coals. Added a couple pices of hickory chunks directly over the coals on top of grill.
Put lid on vent 1/2 opened. cooked 15 min flipped covered 15 min flipped ...etc. until IT reached 170. Pulled let reast as I heated sonme ranch style beans.
That along with my home made Mac salad and I was eating good.
Skin was crisp, and unskinned was also crisp as panko crisped up like skin.
pow is all I can say so if you like the fried style but like to shy away from frying then try this. Also the same stie that I got this idea from did country fried steak using this method.
